Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Stalmine Primary School and Nursery. 

On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors I would like to wish you a warm welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit our school website. Stalmine Primary School and Pre-school is a growing and thriving school, right at the heart of the community. We are a warm and friendly school, with a family feel and nurturing staff who care deeply about the community we serve. We know all children love to succeed and we ensure all of our pupils reach their full potential and are challenged through a rigorous, exciting and creative curriculum. We are extremely proud of our recent 'Good' Ofsted rating (2023). Our expectations of behaviour and attitude to learning are high and we support our pupils to be independent and responsible in the choices that they make.

We believe passionately about providing our pupils with experiences above and beyond the curriculum; throughout the year EVERY pupil in EVERY year group has swimming lessons and we offer a wide range of extra curricular activities from music lessons to sports coaching. We also have a designated Forest Schools area at the bottom of our field.

We are extremely lucky to have an excellent Pre-school, here the foundations for a life-long love of learning are set through creative learning experiences and structured play, provided by a qualified Early Years specialist teacher and practitioner. Children are welcome to join our Pre-school from the year before Reception start. Please see our Pre-school page for more details.
