Stalmine Artists.
Art is all about investigation and exploration. Imagine each lesson as ‘taking a journey through colour, space and media’.
We want the children to discover things for themselves; not only investigating the materials, tools and media they want to use but also the surfaces that they want to work on.
We want an artist at Stalmine to be able to talk about and review their own work and that of a range of artists, designers and architects and be confident in the visual language that they use.
Drawing, line and form is a fundamental starting point for all areas of art.
Stalmine Designer.
DT is all about investigation and exploration of products and design.
Each topic starts off with looking at and investigating products, looking closely at how they have been made, materials and processes used.
We want the children to discover things for themselves; not only investigating the materials and processes but thinking about the tools that have been used and the tools that they could use.
DT is a process that must be reflected on during each stage of design and investigation. Which products/materials/tools are best? Why? Would you do anything different? Learn from each other, reflect all the time with each other.
By the time the children leave Stalmine we want them to be responsible designers and makers, working ethically, using finite materials carefully and working safely.
