DfE School Attendance Parental Responsibility Measures

Attendance Related to COVID-19

Does my child have to return to school?

Yes, attendance regulations have been reinstated by the DfE. Failure to ensure your child attends school may result in fixed penalty notices

What do I do if my child is displaying any of the COVID symptoms?

Do not send your child to school.

Get a PCR test (not a lateral flow test)

Stay at home until you get the results of your test.

Can I still send my child to school if I or any other household / bubble member have symptoms but they are symptom free?

Only if they test negative on a lateral flow test and they are well.

If your child tests positive on a lateral flow test, then they must isolate. If they are unwell in any way, then they must stay at home and take a PCR test.
