KS2 Trip to Skipton Castle

Today, all of Key Stage 2 went on a trip to Skipton Castle as part of sour end of year trip. We had a fantastic day and found it really interesting learning all about it.

Class 2 Trip Lytham Park

We had a fabulous trip to Lytham Park.

We investigated lots of interesting equipment in the playgrounds. 

At lunchtime we ate together under the trees.

This afternoon in science we were learning about plant life cycles. We looked at all the different parts of a plant and what they do. We tried to find these parts on a Lilley. Some were easier than others to identify.

Fabulous Fencing

Today we had a fabulous fencing. In this session, we learnt how to hold and move with a foil. We also learnt how to block a shot from an opponent finishing with games against each other. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Smarty Pants

In maths this week, we have been conducting a maths investigation using tubes of smarties. We have sorted and classified them and represented the data in different ways. Some of us used pictograms, some drew bar charts and others drew pie charts.

Lava lamps

As it has been British Science Week this week, we have had some fun creating our own lava lamps. We used oil and water and noticed that these two liquids do not mix. We added an effervescent tablet which reacted, giving off a gas which produced the bubbles in our lava lamps.

Gemma from Little Zoo came to visit us today. She brought some creatures from the rainforest to see us. 

We held Michelle the giant African land snail. 

Milly the millipede’s legs were like Velcro to help her climb.
